Last week, I saw a coupon in the paper for $4 off 2 of these Covergirl lipslicks Smoochies lip balms. I had no interest in buying these at all when they first came out, but since I saw the coupon, I thought I could justify them. I got them at Target and they retailed for $4.95 each and since I had the coupon, I basically paid 2 for the price of 1.
I had a little trouble initially picking out two colors and I ended up with 225 #tweet me and 220 #text me.
I thought the concept of the hashtag (#) names is very clever and up to date with the current social media trend .
They're very sheer colors but do show color on the lips. They also have a slight fruity scent that isn't bad to me. They're also very smooth and moisturizing and glides on nicely.
Swatch on my hands from L to R: #tweet me, #text me
#tweet me is a nice sheer red color.
#text me is a darker berry sheer color
On the lips below are #tweet me in different areas of shading outside.
The next set I have on #text me. As you can see, it is a lot more pigmented than the ones above. I definitely noticed a nice berry color on my lips.
Overall, these products are good for what they do and for the price. They give your lips some color while moisturizing your lips. They aren't super glossy, but they do give your lips a nice shine. The packaging is cute and it's easy to throw in your bag on the go. The only thing I would say is that the darker color can't just be slapped on since I did notice a more messy application. Other than that, its a good line to try and for the price, you get a good product.
