2017 #NSale Haul

shopping nike gentle souls bp blanknyc

This week was one of the roughest as I got some sort of stomach bug (ugh!) and my right hand/arm was sore from cutting coconuts and receiving a shot (hah) but checking the presale at Nordstrom made it a little bit better in preparation for their Anniversary Sale! I didn't find a whole lot this year, but I definitely bought some key pieces I'm excited to wear this year. I may still pick up a few other pieces and I'll either add them here or create a whole other blog post! I've also styled the pieces so you can get a better look at how they are on. The sale officially starts in less than an hour PST so I wanted to get this post up ASAP!

1) I only picked up two pieces from the sale and one of them was a jacket. I almost always go for jacket of some sort of jacket each year and this time I picked up this BLANKNYC Own the Night Bomber Jacket. It's so "me" and I love the varsity school jacket vibes from it. I have something to this already, but this jacket is more structured and in this cool gray color. I paired it up with these Nike Air Max Thea Sneakers seen in the photos above and I love the gum bottoms! I haven't had a pair of sneakers with gum bottoms since my Nike Dunks phase and I love how they look with the black and white.

Purle + Black

2) This next outfit is paired with another top and shoes form the sale. I love oversized knits and I actually saw a ton that I liked, but ended up coming home with this one. This BP. Cold Shoulder Tunic Sweater  in this burgundy color instantly caught my eye (plus purple shades are my favorite) and the slits on the arms add a nice touch. I've been loving slits and open shoulder tops for the summer and can't wait to transition the look in to Fall. Here, I paired the sweater with a pair of black faux leather pants I've had in my wardrobe and then these Louise et Cie Jianna Stacked Heel Pump in Black Suede also from the sale. They also come in this beautiful pink shade but it didn't look right on my skin tone so I had to pass. I love the classic black look though, and how these shoes fit. I have been on the hunt for a pair of black heels with a chunky heel minus the ankle straps and these ones fit all the criteria I had. Plus, they're easy to walk in!

Navy Suede

3) The last item I picked up was another pair of sneakers, this time more trendy. I'm a sucker for sneakers and I have always loved velvet (I have a few items still from years back!). These Gentle Souls Carole Zip Sneakers in Navy Velvet instantly caught my eye with the dark royal blue color. I wanted to add that soft velvet look to other parts of my wardrobe and these shoes fit the description perfectly. The dark color will also help it not look as dirty! For these photos, I just paired the shoes with a simple black maxi and a white tee.

That's all I picked from the Nordstrom Anniversary Presale and I hope it gave you guys some outfit inspiration! I'll be sharing more looks with the pieces as I have time to shoot and if I do end up getting a few extra pieces, I'll share those as well as mentioned before!

Did any of you guys shop the NSALE? Anything you think is worth getting? Let me know!

There's just something about florals that I just can't get enough of! Floral pieces just make me feel happy and more so when the sun is out. This extra long pink floral kimono by Band of Gypsies makes me especially happy because of how whimsical and flowy it is. It's another awesome find from Marshalls and I initially wanted it for a swimsuit cover-up for my upcoming trip to Las Vegas (in just two weeks!). I styled this with jeans and espadrille sneakers but you can totally wear shorts and sandals/heels with it too for the hotter weather.

Aside from the outfit, let's talk about Seattle's Chinatown/International District! This is one of my favorite places in the city as I basically grew up here and have seen the transformation it has gone through. I always think about my childhood when I'm here and more so when I can still go to my favorite restaurants that are still around. I'm also liking the fact that there are more food establishments that aren't just necessarily Chinese here and how there's a decent mix of everything. I'm thinking about writing a post on my favorite Chinatown spots so possibly stay tuned for that! If you're planning a visit to Seattle, definitely put this area on your list =)

Lace Slip Dress + Sneakers

nike nordstrom rack sneakers and dress
One of my favorite things to do is to pair sneakers with girlier pieces, especially if it's a dress. I've always wanted to add a slip dress into my wardrobe and I instantly fell in love when I saw this black lace slip/white tee combo at Nordstrom Rack; I could already picture this outfit being more casual with a pair of all white sneakers.

I'll always be a tomboy at heart and heels just aren't "me." I'll dress up when the occasion calls for it, but I can't help but wear sneakers whenever I can. I'm all about being comfortable whenever possible! These white Nike sneakers (also a find at Nordstrom rack) have been my summer go-to. I've worn them with shorts, dresses, bright colored pieces, and plain 'ol sweats. They're a nice change from my white low top Converse Chuck Taylors and the only other all-white pair of Nike's I have are Dunks or AF1's but those need some upgrade (I've had them since grade school, ha ha). If sneakers aren't your thing, go for something simple like these all white Nike's or a Adidas Superstars!

Hello everybody, sorry for the lack of posts! I've been on a bit of a blogging hiatus due to some personal things and getting things settled (and just in need of a break in general) but everything is A-OK and I'm back to blogging! I wanted to start everything back off with a little collaboration I did recently with GroopDealz! They reached out to me to see if I wanted to shop from their site and after taking a look, I just had to give it a go! They're an online boutique shop that features daily deals for smaller businesses and artisans and provides a platform for people to shop their goods at discounted prices. I love that they have a wide-range of items from clothing to stationery and that there are special deals every day.

I picked up a few things including this awesome pineapple monogram shirt (seen above) and of course, I had to get my initials =P. This shirt was super comfortable and I love wearing it out casually, especially when eating pineapple, haha. I also picked up this black jumper. This one was a bit more difficult to wear as there was no stretch or give to it, even in a larger size. I felt like a ninja in it, haha. I paired it with a pair of sticky adhesive bra (not shown, obviously) that I also picked up from their site and you can never go without a pair for the summer when you want to avoid bra straps or just body suffocation. The process to order was simple and easy, though it took a bit longer for some items to arrive which wasn't too big of a deal. I will say though that if you see something you like, be sure to get it right away because the daily deals are on constant rotation and what you want one day may be gone the next (speaking from experience)! I've already gone and placed another order purchasing with my own money since I saw some items I couldn't pass up.
