Too Faced Melted Liquid Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Peony: SWATCH + REVIEW

On my last beauty post, I hauled this
This particular caught my eye because of the colors and packaging. After trying on all the colors, I decided on this particular color.
I love the packaging and personally love the sponge tip squeeze tube application.
The product is very pigmented and this color is a nice light mauvey pink--very wearable.

Now for the swatches on the lips. First picture shows my natural bare lips.
bare/natural lips

As you can see, the liquid lipstick definitely leaves a nice lighter more neutral pink color to my lips without being too bright like a barbie pink. It isn't too warm or too purple either, just right and perfect for Spring. I can see this looking very nicely on tanned skin too, but would also contrast nicely on paler skin tones.
The scent is like a mix of slight 'typical' lipstick scent with a nice fresh powdery scent. At least to me anyways. It isn't bad or bothersome to me at all. There is a slight taste to it but nothing I really notice unless I full on lick my lips (which I would NOT suggest haha).

I really like using the sponge tip to apply the product. It doesn't squeeze out too much and you have nice precision control wince the sponge tip has nice hard edges to really help line the lips.
It applies smooth like the NYX Soft Velvet Matte Lip Creams (i think that's what they're called) and they are at first more creamy than gloss. They aren't sticky at all. They set matte on the lips.

For this color and the lighter ones, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST exfoliating your lips beforehand since this type of product can get in the cracks and show the dry flakes on your lips if you aren't careful! Other than that, once you prep your lips, the color will look gorgeous.
The wear is pretty good on this too, but for touching up, I would recommend using a balm first and then the product again over it. I kind of like the look of this liquid lipstick with like Vaseline or something over it!

Have you tried out these new Melted Too Faced Lip products at Sephora yet? If you have tried it ,what are your favorite colors??
Let me know!

    1. You're welcome! And I tried on the coral one thinking it would be more peachy but it was too bright and too orange on me. If I were to get another shade it would be the Fuchsia or Violet!

I wish the coral would have been more coral on the pinkier side because initially I did want it, before trying it on. I would recommend trying it on in stores if you can! I didn't look good against my skin tone either, but may be different for you!

    2. From the swatches these look like they have similar consistency to NYX lip creams; have you tried one of those? If you want a nice pinkish coral shade you might want to look into the one called Nude Peach Fuzz from the Xtreme Lip Cream range, it's one of my faves plus it's much cheaper :) But I think the consistency of NYX might be a bit stickier/less smooth than Too Faced. Anyway I might get two now; fuchsia & peony. Thank you for your help! There's no Too Faced store in where I live so I'll have to get them online.

    3. I have only tried the soft matte lip creams and mega shine glosses from NYX but I will have to look into the Xtreme Lip Creams! The only thing about the non-gloss products from NYX is that the lighter collors seem to settle way more into any lip lines than the darker colors. Hopefully they will have a tester out when I look for it. Thanks for the suggestion!

    1. You're welcome! But yes, it isn't very hygienic but then again, neither are a lot of lip glosses that have the doe-foot applicator or sponge tips, so it is hard to find a completely hygienic one.

  6. from the swatch I thought it would be so much darker but it only left a light coat and actually looks lovely on you :D!
