School Girl and Bad Girl Mime: Last Minute Halloween Costume Tutorial

If you're super last minute like me or just found out about a Halloween party, you may need to be quick and think of a quick yet fun costume! I didn't feel like spending any extra money or really take the time to shop for anything, so, I dug through my closet and found a striped crop top that instantly made me think: MIME! I styled two different options for the mime look-one school girl and girly, and the other more badass and cold weather friendly(er) with the same make-up look for both.

First let's start with the makeup.

It would be best if you had some sort of white and black face paint, but if you don't just use what you have at home like I did!

1) Use any translucent or really pale face powder you may have around (or pale foundation) and apply it all over to give yourself a paler complexion
2) Use a red lip liner or lipstick to bring out some color on your lips and make them stand out
3) Use eyeliner (pencil, or liquid, whichever you have or prefer) and begin lining your eyes. To build intensity, you can also use black eye shadow. Draw triangle like shapes/designs around your eyes. It doesn't have to be perfect, but make sure there are distinct points.
4) Apply your favorite mascara.
5) If you like, use the eye liner to add dimples or beauty marks to you face.

You can be as precise and defined or as messy as you want with this make up. It is totally up to you! The messier it is, you could be an extra sad/angry mime!

School Girl Mime
Overall Dress - Pac Sun, Striped Crop Top - Nordstrom Rack, Laced-up Combat Boots - Forever 21

The first one is the school girl mime. I donned on this black faux leather overall dress on top of the crop top. I put my hair in pigtails and added my favorite laced up combat boot heels. As always, you can always add back tights underneath if is going to be too cold and if any pair of black shoes would work with this look. To add to the school girl vibe, a pair of black sneakers of oxfords would match really well.

"Bad Girl" Mime
Faux Leather Jacket - Ross, Striped Crop Top - Nordstrom Rack, Izzy Zip Coated Jeans - Cotton OnLaced-up Combat Boots - Forever 21, Ear muffs - Daiso Japan

The second one is more chill and has more of a 'bad girl' vibe with all the leather inspired pieces going on. I kept the same shoes and top but added these coated zipper black denim pants from Cotton On. I pulled my hair up in a bun and added some warm black ear muffs to battle the cold. To top it all off, I paired the whole look with a black faux leather jacket to give myself some more chill vibes.

I hope these two looks gave you some inspiration for Halloween! You never know what you can be inspired from by just looking inside your closet! The best part of being a Mime is if you don't want to talk to anyone, you don't have to since it is part of the act! Just speak through your facial expressions and you'll be set (if you'd like haha)

Readers, will you be dressing up for Halloween this year? What will you be?! Let me know!
