FIVE FALL LIPSTICKS: DRUGSTORE EDITION

Happy Friday everyone =) . For those that celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday, I hope you all had a wonderful time with friends, family, and food! For those of you that don't, I hope you all had a wonderful day! We're almost done with Fall/Autumn, with a little under a month to go, and I thought it would be a good time to share the lipstick shades that I've been reaching for (some more so than others). The best part of these picks are that they are 1) All drugstore which means they are 2) very affordable!

This fall I have really been into warmer shades such as a berries and plums. I have found myself reaching for these (especially the first 3) more  so and observe the darker colors for the times I don't want to wear a dark purple lip.

From Left to Right

1) L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in #219 Plush Plum: This is the most hydrating of the bunch and a tie in sheerness against the Revlon one. It is perfect for every day and is a color you don't have to think about and apply sans mirror. It gives a nice berry/plum sheer wash that is a bit darker than a 'my lips but better" color so also can act as a darker nude.

2) Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in #085 Sugar Plum: This one is very similar to the L'Oreal one mentioned above except it has a bit of shimmer to it (but not in an obnoxious way). It is another simple one to throw in your purse and apply on the go and acts as a MLBB color.

3) Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes in #660 Touch of Spice: This is definitely more of an 'on trend' lip color having more brown undertones to it. The formula of this matte lipstick is great--not drying, easy to apply and super pigmented. I receive a lot of compliments when I wear this one and it suits my skin tone really well. It's nice for those who want to try the 90s lip trend without going too brown.

4) NYX Butter Lipstick in Licorice:  These next two I absolutely love. This fall, I've been really into these darker berry/plum lippies when I want something more bold. This NYX Butter Lipstick is extra creamy (can be a bit messy so be careful when you apply) and moisturizes my lips at the same time.

5) Milani Color Statement Lipstick in #24 Black Cherry: I've only very recently tried this lipstick but it has already become a favorite for me. You can read my full review on it HERE. It is a bit darker than the NYX lipstick and lasts longer on the lips. This is a nice one to wear on a night out since it is a bit bolder and will last longer as you eat and have some drinks. Also, this color makes your teeth look whiter which is always a plus in my book!

I have a few other favorites (like MAC's Pure Heroine) but I'm saving all the purple lipsticks for a future post! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and have some last minute Fall/Autumn lip inspiration.

Readers, what have been your favorite Fall/Autumn lip colors? Are you more into reds, plums, nudes, or purples? Let me know!

  4. I'm so glad to hear that! If you want to dip your toes into it, then the first two shades from L'Oreal and Revlon would be perfect since they are sheerer. However, if you want to dive into it, I'd say go for the darker ones! They compliment just about every skin tone and is perfect for this time of year! =)
