Bobbi Brown Lip Balm: Product Review

I received this Bobbi Brown lip balm as gift over a year ago and never really used it or talked about it. I re-found it in my stash of lip products and decided to use it daily to see how I really feel about it.

This is a very solid balm, solid meaning it takes a bit to work the product before it is smooth/creamy enough to use. It looks pink in the pan, but it is clear when I apply it to the lips and it leaves no sort of tint what so ever. I was going to swatch it, but when I did, you literally can't see anything except just a slight sheen.

This does have nice packaging to it. The product is in a little silver tin that you have to twist open. It has a very classic feel to it.
The balm has a slight rose scent, but you really have to sniff to smell anything. I'm not even sure if it is even rose scented or just my imagination! It also feels a bit heavy on the lips so I find myself using this more so in the evenings before I go to bed.
I honestly can't say that I notice a huge difference in my lips the morning after I apply this on or even when I apply it sometimes during the day. This also isn't the best lip balm that I have used and for the price of it (I looked it up and it is $19) I expected it to do much more, especially because it is a Bobbi Brown product and my only Bobbi Brown product at that. I think that if the texture was softer and more creamy, I would use it up more, but the balm itself is just to hard and reminiscent of something waxy.

I would not buy this for myself again or even for a gift. If you are curious about this product, you can maybe check out Nordstrom to see if they have a tester.

Have you tried this Bobbi Brown lip balm? What is your favorite brand of lip balm?

  1. I'm always hesitant when it comes to expensive lip balms! They always seem like such a hefty price for such a basic product. Definitely going to pass on this one!

  2. True that! I am glad I got this as a gift and didn't fork over the money myself to try because it is definitely not worth it! (in my own personal opinion!) There are way better ones at the drugstore than this.

  3. I've never ventured into any products from this brand, I've heard that some of their products are quite good though. It's a shame that this wasn't worth the money.

    1. Yeah, I haven't ventured into this brand really either and this item was a gift. I definitely wouldn't have purchased it myself though! I think I would rather choose the Dior Crème de Rose lip balm even though it is pricier, but it has they hype that supports it. I know there are other good items from Bobbi Brown, but I have yet to try them, but maybe I will dabble into some items soon!
