GASTROPOD: RESTAURANT REVIEW

Last month, I just so happened to be out with my brother and we were hungry. We were in the SODO area of Seattle and decided to look at Yelp for some guidance. What we found was Gastropod and decided to check it out!

This was a smaller place with a warehouse-like feel with exposed piping and brick walls. They also have an open kitchen in one room so you can see exactly what they are doing and creating for you which I really enjoy the idea of. They have a seasonal menu or it might just change up from time to time so what is shown below will probably not be on their menu now, but its good to see if they come back or not.

Their menu in general is very unique and definitely has a fusion vibe going on with a lot of East meets West going on: Tako Tacos (such a clever name), Pot pie ramen, Kimchi Wagyu Tartare, etc. They're all served for sharing (family style) and are quite reasonably priced. On the current menu, they have Sri Lanken lamb, nachos Picasso, okonomiyaki, etc. They also had a nice drink selection and some seasonal drinks as well.

Mountain Rose Apple salad w/ hazelnut, radicchio, vinaigrette and nutella dressing
Tako Tacos (Tako is Japanese for octopus)
Black Truffle Tagliatelle
Kimichi Wagyu Beef Tartare and roasted bone marrow

Miso/Cheese ice cream (something like that)
