So instead of waiting seasonally to do an empties post, I figured it was a good time to this monthly, or when I had a good amount of products to show!
This past month, I used up a lot of items that were basically more than half way gone and some of them just got old.
Body
1) & 2)I used up a shower gel and body lotion (sort of, the body lotion got gross on me) from Bath and Body works in the scent Dark Kiss (I don't think the make this anymore. This was from a few seasons ago and I mostly bought it for the labeling and the name (the scent was actually nice too). It was a very nice warm musky scent that was perfect for a night out or going on a date since it had that seductive quality to it. It sort of reminded me of a less fruity Love Spell from Victoria's Secret combined with a warmer Pink Sugar scent. I liked the shower gel alot and found it left my skin clean without that squeaky clean feeling. The lotion was nice before it got gross on me and left the scent lingering on my skin. I like these types of scents so if there is something similar that BBW comes out with, I'd def check it out.
2) Babo Botanicals Oatmile Calendula lotion was amazing! I bought this online at Ulta during a time my skin was acting up from my ezcema. I looked at this and thought it would be worth it to try out. I used it all over my body and my face when I felt like my ezcema was flaring up and it worked great to sooth the itchiness and calm down the redness. I would definitely repurchase this.
3)Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Body Polish: I received this as a gift two Christmases ago and finally used it up (I didn't start using it till the middle of last year). Surprisingly, this smaller size lasted quite a while. It is quite an abbrassive scrub/polish/exfoliator and I liked using it on my legs before fake tanning or when I would feel extra dry around my ankles, knees, and elbows. I probably wouldn't repurchase this particular one due to the higher price, but I will say I did enjoy it and may check out the other items from the Creme de Corps line since I did enjoy the scent and feel of this product.
Face Wipes
I have a bad habit of opening more than one packet of facial wipes at a time and told myself after I used these ones up I would stick to only having one at a time.
1) & 2):The first 2 on the left are from the Japanese brand Kracie. I can't quite remember the scents on these but they both contain olive extract in it I believe. These were a bit pricier than what I would have paid for whipes but I got them on a sale. They worked well and didn't irritate my skin, but took a bit to take off mascara. I did enjoy the packaging of them because the cover is an actual snap-shut type so it keeps moisture in as opposed to those that only have the taped seal. I won't be repurchasing however due to the fact that I found wipes that are just as good for less than half the price.
2) The third set of wipes I used up were from Daiso and they were the Aloe makeup wipes. These were, of course, like most things in Daiso, only $1.50 and these worked wonderfully. They did the job well and the size of the sheet was quite large so you only needed to use one. 30 came in a pack so it was a very generous amount for the price. Also, the sheets were very saturated in solution and only dried out at the end with the last 2 wipes. I have already repurchased them and will continue to repurchase them!
3) The last set of wipes I bought to travel with (but ended up not even using them for my trip). They are the Sasatinnie Rose Makeup remover wipes and I have mixed feelings about this one. I liked the scent and how this felt on my skin, however, the sheets were OVERLY saturated. I don't like dry facial wipes but I don't like wipes that hav too much solution soaked in them where it feels like im wiping a heavy watery goo on my face. It was just more annoying than anything. I won't be repurchasing due to this fact.
Random Items
1) L'oreal Hyaluronic Moisture Mask. I only bought this item to fill up a cart order for free shipping and don't have much to say about this item besides the fact that it worked like a conditioner. I didn't find my hair to have any extra moisture to it or that my hair felt softer. I used it as a mask and as a conditioner and just didn't see any real difference. I won't be repurchasing.
2) BBW Villa Bergamot Wallflower. I bought this during their sale were this pair of 2 was only $3. I loved the candle in this scent and figured I would love the wallflower. Though I did enjoy this scent when I was in the room, it wasn't as strong as I would have liked it to be as my other wallflowers. I won't be repurchasing this particular scent but I will be buying these Bergamot scented wallflowers in the future.
3) Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Nail Polish. This was a fun item to try and I'm glad I bought it on sale because I was only able to use it once before it dried out and got gloopy and unworkable (is that a word?). The color was nice and it dried quick when applied and the color was decent, but I'm really over the texture thing, especially with this particualr formula. I won't be repurchasing again.
4) Maybelline Define-a-Lash Mascara. My friend had this extra tube of mascara and let me try it since she swears by it and I have to say, I was a bit sceptical at first when I saw the want. It is a flexible want that is plastic and has the short teeth on them, but it ended up really enjoying it! It didn't flake off really and when applied there was zero clumping! I hate clumps of any sort and always try to make sure I have none at all and this one didn't leave me any. I found it to be more separating (as suggested from the name of it) and lengthining as opposed to volumizing. If there weren't so many mascaras out there for me to try, I'd probably repurchase, but probably won't because of all the ones I want to check out. If you are looking for a good non-clumping and lengthining mascara, check this out. It would probably be a good one to layer with too!
Hope you enjoyed this post!! =P
