LUSH's Magic Wand Bubble Bar: Review

I love this time of year at Lush since all the holiday items are out and one of my favorites is anything scented like Snow Fairy so I decided to pick up the Magic Wand Bubble Bar.

From the Lush website, Magic Wand is:

"fabulously fun pink wand especially for our biggest Snow Fairy fans. Close your eyes, swish your Magic Wand in the tub as it fills, and your wish for mounds of sweet Snow Fairy-scented bubbles will be granted! There’s enough magic in this wand for several baths full of candy-scented bubbles and sweet pink waters, so pop it on the side of your tub for the next time you need a magical bubble bath."

I love the star shape, the pink color and the lovely fragrance of this bar. The fact that it was on a stick with a little bell added to the cute packaging and ease of making a bubble bath. However, I was a little disappointed in the wand itself since it didn't produce as many bubbles on its own. It also didn't leave the bath water that pink and just slightly tinged it.

Since I still have my Snow Fairy Shower Gel from last year, I decided to add some to my bath to intensify the candyfloss/bubblegum smell and to add more bubbles.

The end result was a nice bath filled with bubbles that indeed lasted, but i'm guessing it was more due to the shower gel than the bath wand itself.

I did have an enjoyable bath, but the Magic Wand left some disappointment. It probably would do a little better if you actually broke up the bubble bar itself and ran it under the water like the other bubble bars instead of swirling it under water, but if you don't care for the cute gifty quality of the Magic Wand but love the smell, then go for the Snow Fairy shower gel and use it as a bubble bath. The Magic Wand retails for for $9.95 which is the same for price for the small bottle of the shower gel. The wand would probably give 3 to 4 baths when used, but the shower gel is multipurpose and has more uses.

This is a cute gift and stocking stuffer and would be great for someone who loves this scents and children to play with in their bath, but if you don't care for the look but just like the smell, then I would recommend to get the shower gel.
