Go Hawks! Donut for breakfast =) |
Last weekend was a rather fun and event filled weekend. First off, it was Hawaiian Week at my work so we had a festival which I helped at and of course, ate lots of food at! Not only that, I also had a chance to meet Benji from BenjiManTV and ItsJudysLife, who is the husband of the wonderful beauty guru on YouTube, Its Judy Time!
He was filming a little episode for his YouTube channel at the Seattle Uwajimaya and I had a chance to meet him then. He's a super chill dude and taller in person than I thought he'd be haha.
Now onto a quick #ootd.
First I really just wanted to get my hair out of the way, yet keep it somewhat festive so I opted for a side braid that I like to call my snake braid haha. It looks awkward when hanging on the back (see below) but when it's all the way to the side, it works well! I added a little hibiscus flower clip too!
Of course I had to wear my "NOPE" t-shirt inspired by Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawk's awesome play in last season's game in the NFC championships against the 49er's Crabtree.
I was at the Renton location for the Polynesian Festival and I always love the ambience at these events. Everyone is just so happy, there's good company, entertainment, and good food and its just fun to see everybody. There's booths for food and some island crafts and clothing.
And of course, these posts aren't the same if I don't show off the food I ate! On Saturday, I only tried a couple things. First off I had the lychee pink lemonade ($2) from Big Boys Filipino Food Truck. This was so tasty! I like lychee flavored drinks and this one was on point. It wasn't overly sweet or too tart..it was just right.
Then I had the Tempura Fried Spam Musubi ($5) from the People of the Chubbs food truck.
It wasn't as light as a tempura batter, but it was still good, just a bit heavy, and not for those who don't like deep fried things haha. I liked that there was actually a fried egg inside too! It was something different. Since it was a bit heavy and greasy, I wasn't able to finish the whole thing, but I would definitely try it again and probably split it with someone.
Day 2:
On Day 2, I definitely tried out more things to eat!
First off, I had some tuna poke with chili and ogo (a type of seaweed). I love this stuff so much and could seriously eat it all day. It's made fresh by the seafood department.
For a breakfast snack break.. I had to go all out and eat a breakfast sandwich from Big Boys with garlic chicken and of course two Hawaiian Sun drinks. I love this sandwich particularly because it has a frikken hash brown in it. And a fried egg?! Yess. Haha, like I say "If I'm gonna eat bad, I'm gonna eat bad all the way" haha.
A coworker of mine had the Carne Asada fries from People of the Chubbs for her lunch and of course I tried hers as well. This was really tasty and I love the melted cheese in it. When you get a bite of the fries with the meat, cheese, and creamy sauce on top (sour cream?) --best bite you'll ever have haha.
And I can't go to these things without having any shave(d) ice! When it's hot, its one of the best things ever. I had mines with ice cream and had Cotton Candy, Green Watermelon, and Li Hing Mui syrup with a snow cap. So good!
And just a little look of what I wore the 2nd day. It was hot so I definitely didn't wear pants again!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post!
